This morning is sunny and warm and my house desperately needs a floor wash; but it is also Valentine's Day weekend. So as I finish my coffee I wanted to share a lil love. I have to admit Valentine's Day is one of my favourite holidays. Not at all in the fancy obligatory romantic dinner that never happens way, and certainly never long stemmed red roses as I despise them BUT just because it is about love. Love in general, true maitri. If you haven't read Something about M words take a quick look back. Valentine's Day was always my favourite time of year to celebrate with the boys and at school. It is pretty and sweet and there isn't as much stress and hype that seems to come along with the Christmas season these days. Also likely because it brought me back to my childhood when I got so excited about Valentine's Day.
Tomorrow night my boys come back and I am making them a special dinner. I will probably get some eye rolling but tradition is important and I never want them to forget how excited they got about the decorations and special candles and treats we put out when they were wee. I also want them to see it doesn't have to be just about a hyped up date, it can be about friends and family and love in general. Sheesh it can even be about celebrating love for the pets...I would prefer that then them ever settling for a relationship that didn't make them feel adored.
We have yet to watch Juno together and it is such a great film...this quote by her Dad still makes me laugh.
My Valentine's Day Pinterest board has built up to almost 1000 inspirational ideas I have collected over the years...if you need some ideas have a browse. Also please visit the new facebook HeART Key page that I have softly launched. It is the amalgamation of Snickerdoodles and Birch Hill Photography and slowly in transition. The process hasn't been simple so I truly appreciate you patience and support.
Happy Valentine's Day friends. Find love in all things, spread love and most of all love yourself.
p.s. Want a lil more?
