Being a pretty no-fuss girl I was hesitant to try eyelash extensions but I kept seeing ladies at yoga or friends and admired theirs. I wondered if they were real and was curious. Never in a million years would I have the patience or desire to have fancy nails done nor to maintain them, but my eyelashes are quite fair and I am part mermaid so makeup doesn't seem to last. Sooo after seeing several friends have really pretty lashes put on by Lindsay James at Evolve Salon & Spa I asked her about it. When she offered to do mine so I could share the experience here I lept at the chance.
It wasn't fast, but it was relaxing and we got to chat while she glued the individual lashes into my existing lashes. She said my lashes were long and I could do the long legnth but I wanted as natural as possible so I asked for medium. It took almost two hours but it's been two weeks and they are holding strong and have been zero work.
Here is a picture of them on without makeup in outdoor light.
AND here is the before and afters from Lindsay without a stitch of makeup too...
Enjoy my 42 year old wrinkles! And I am not an eyebrow plucker, so my wild brows have nothing to do with Lindsay either...just the lashes. I am able to load up on mascara and beef up my lashes normally quite a bit but they are never this long or stay this curled and no waterproof mascara has ever been able to keep up with me. In the past I have tried eyelash tinting and it works but doesn't last or make much of a difference and once some dye ran into my eye and burned for a while which kinda freaked me out. No beauty service is worth risking your vision.
Apparently every 2-3 weeks or so you need to have your lashes filled which should be fairly quick and I have asked for even more subtle next time. I love these for going out but I am a bit shy about them being noticeable when I am bumming around normally. They are glued on with medical grade glue and were mink lashes but not real mink...they are animal friendly.
I waited two weeks to write this review to really get adjusted, see how they held up and also to observe who noticed or commented. All in all I am really happy in all areas and will definitely keep them up for a while. It was a bit of an intimidating thing for me and Lindsay was gentle and professional and a joy to be around for the appointment so I am telling the world to go see her. She also does fabulous hair and other aesthetic services in her cozy loft space. It was my first time at Evolve and it is absolutely charming.
Now because she is so sweet she has agreed to special pricing for Snickerdoodles readers who book before September 15...just mention Snickerdoodles and like our facebook page and Lindsays for a full eyelash extension service for $99. Call her cell 250-309-6628 to book your time and I look forward to seeing your before & after images.
Also, If you are quick she is hosting a terrific contest that runs to Sept 1st where you win salon services by Lindsay for a year...so go to her Lindsay James Evolve Salon & Spa facebook page right this instant and give it a like and enter the contest.
