I am a proud junkie of YouTube. Today I found a lovely short film on Empathy by RSA Shorts. Ted Talks are one of my weaknesses, LOVE THEM and if you do too you will really go for the work RSA Shorts does....so amazing.
What is the best way to ease someone’s pain and suffering? How can you really be there for another person? In this beautifully animated RSA Short, Dr Brené Brown reminds us that we can only create a genuine empathic connection if we are brave enough to get in touch with our own fragilities.
Dr Brené Brown is a best-selling author, speaker and research professor. She has spent the past decade studying vulnerability, courage, worthiness, and shame.

When you truly connect with someone it is precious. Lately I have been so lucky to have found some really great connections, people who get me and where I am at. People I can be utterly open and vulnerable with and learn from.
Opening to everything, my heart, my mind, my spirit, and now my empathy...that is what I want to work on. And in the spirit of really celebrating my mid-life crisis I went and got a big key tattooed on me to symbolize that opening. No kidding friends, I just went and did it a couple days ago and have been giggling since when I feel the tenderness in the area. Once it's not looking so angry and raw I will share a peek. After ten years of procrastinating I am no longer a tattoo virgin.
