I am well in the midst of designing our lower level/basement now. The drywall is going up and it's time to hustle at ordering flooring, tile and cabinets. Thank heavens that Momentum Interiors is so close. Every flooring, cabinet door, window covering sample I have needed so far has been easy to take home and assess.
Not only do they have an amazing selection of suppliers and samples, the prices are good and the store is gorgeous. Who doesn't enjoy a hot coffee while pondering wallpaper samples and sofa styles?

Here are some very wise questions to consider when designing your space from my friend Carrie McCarthy. This is important stuff folks if you want to avoid making your space look like a Winners store! Almost anyone can make stuff match but it takes a very special knack to make a house your own and most of all..."homey".
Don't forget to share your design intentions with the creative team at Momentum and they'll make your hopes a reality. Whistler girls need to head to Patina and chat with Maureen, or visit their web page via the left sidebar blog button.
Feels Like Home: 3 Questions For Creating An Intentional Living Space by Carrie McCarthy, Style Statement Designing. Shopping. Decorating. When it comes to creating our homes, for most of us, the primary focus is the look of it – and understandably so, our living space is a hugely visual experience.
But try these concepts on for size: Intention. Expression. Feeling.
Living by your own design begins with a feeling and results in a look. Being authentic may mean that you follow tradition, or that you color outside the lines. Most every time, authenticity is simply what feels good to you.
3 Questions For Creating An Intentional Living Space
Whether you’re living in a mansion or a one-room flat, ask yourself:
- What is the intention of my home? [Shelter, play, healing, inspiration, comfort, motivation?]
- What do I want to express through my home? [Passion, values, knowledge, creativity, legacy?]
- How do I want my living space to feel? [Like a sanctuary or a resort? Luxurious, quaint, impressive, private, special?]
Our wish for you is that your home fits the shape of your heart.
